Iran cinema spring takings revealed

With spring screenings drawing to a close, total gross takings for Iranian films stand at more than 610 billion rials.

A Sunday report released by local media said in spring 2017, total sales of Iranian films amount to 610 billion rials (around USD 18.8 million).

The list below shows top-grossing films as of June 22:

1. ‘Patrole 2’ by Saeed Soheili: Nearly USD 5.8 million          
2. ‘The Good, the Bad and the Frivolous’ by Peyman Qasemkhani: Nearly USD 4.9 million
3. ‘Sperm Whale 2’ by Saman Moqaddam: Nearly USD 3.9 million    
4. ‘Midday Event’ by Mohammad-Hossein Mahdavian: Nearly USD 1.2 million
